This past weekend, something quietly powerful took place at the Haruru Falls Retreat — the most beautiful retreat space in the Bay of Islands.

A group of wise souls, all aged 60 and over, gathered not simply to rest — but to awaken.
Together, we explored what it means to truly feel alive again.
Through mindful movement and breath, we learnt how to warm ourselves from within,
generating life energy even in the chill of night.
Not with effort — but with awareness.
Later, under the night sky lit with stars, we entered the sauna.
Then, we stepped into the fresh wind outside.
This contrast of heat and cool became more than a physical experience —
it was a deep cleansing of body, mind, and spirit.
What we remembered, in that silence, was this:
“The human body is not just flesh and bone, but a sacred temple of energy and soul.”
This was not a wellness retreat in the usual sense.
It was the birth of a conscious community of elders —
people who are not stepping back from life,
but stepping forward to offer insight, presence, and wisdom to the younger generation.
In a world changing faster than ever,
what could be more needed than awakened elders —
those who carry depth, grace, and a lifetime of lived truth?

What made this weekend truly unique was the depth of the program itself.
We began with barefoot walking across the earth — reawakening acupressure points and restoring our body’s balance with the natural temperature of the land. Each step became a conversation with the Earth beneath us.
We practised Qigong, not simply as an exercise, but as a communion with nature.
Our breath and movement became one with the elements, reminding us that we are not separate from the natural world — we are the natural world.
Through Tao lectures and intimate group discussions, we reflected deeply on a question many had forgotten to ask:
“What is the real purpose of my life?”
Answers did not come from the intellect, but from the quiet clarity of the heart.
Meals were more than nourishment.
They were gifts — lovingly prepared by Maria, whose heartfelt cooking brought warmth, joy, and connection to the table.
Sharing food together became a celebration of being alive, here and now.
And then there was Chun Bu Kyung — the ancient scripture that reveals the cosmic order.
We didn’t learn it as information, but experienced it as vibration,
feeling in every cell of our bodies the truth that:
“I am not just part of the universe. I am the universe.”
To everyone who joined us —
thank you for your presence, your openness, and your courage.
This space exists because of you.
And because of you, something beautiful has begun.
🕊️ Now is not the time to fade away.
Now is the time to shine — differently, but brightly.
